Added to Fun Fleet
This bus was purchased from Houston Scrap and Metal. At the time I did not have a 5305 so I saw this wrecked one in a Houston scrap yard. I had bought many 5301s from Houston and several were scrap, so I simply traded for bus #330. I had my truck tractor in Houston and on the return trip I towed the bus back to California.
Return Trip and Rebuild
Now this was an adventure. The rear brakes were disconnected, and I had to fix and make them fork for the trip home. This bus sat for a while and I decided to rebuilt it. First, it didn't have a power plant so i installed one. Then, the front mask had to be changed out. i took a 5301 mask off Houston bus #13 and installed it on #330. Later I decided to repair the body and paint it. This I accomplished but didn't start on the interior. I hated plastic seats so It was my intention to put American seats in.
When and Where Did it Go?
Unfortunately it was never completed and, in the early 2000s, scrap prices went super high and I was offered a price greater than the retail price for the bus at that time. Fun Fleet bus #330 was sold for scrap.
